Supporting St. John's Bread & Life During Catholic Sisters Week

The Daughters of Wisdom, US Province will rise to the challenge and support the LCWR's mission to ensure that no person goes hungry during Catholic Sisters week this March 8-14. The goal is to raise a collective $45,000 for St. John's Bread & Life in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY.

Since the pandemic 1 in 4 individuals or 12.4% of Brooklyn's population is considered food insecure, the majority are the elderly, medically compromised, and working poor.

Since March 2020, Bread & Life tripled its services by distributing more than 2.4 million meals and is on target to distribute 3.2 million meals by June 2021. Having a community of Sisters who have long served in Brooklyn, Provincial, Sr. Catherine Sheehan, DW, said, "As a province, we will be making a donation to the St. John's Bread & Life in honor of Catholic Sisters Week."
