Sr. Rosemarie Greco, DW, Encourages Young Voters

Sr. Rosemarie recognizes the importance of young people having a voice, and most importantly, a VOTE in our nation’s governance. That is why she is actively engaged with the Torrington, Connecticut Mayors Council on Youth and The League of Women Voters, especially in reaching out to young women and men, as well as potential voters of all ages, in registering to vote so that they can have their voices heard.

In the photos below, Sr. Rosemarie is at a meeting with the Torrington Mayors Council on Youth and The League of Women Voters, speaking with the youth council President, Alyssa, about organizing voter registration rallies in the high school. League President Kerry Mayers was also in attendance.

Sister relays that the group discussed poignant issues such as “how we feel when we’re not asked our opinion and how it can make us feel insignificant and grow into negative actions. They [the Youth Council] understood how the ability to vote is a way to make our voices heard in local and national directions.”

Thank you, Sr. Rosemarie, for all your efforts in registering voters and encouraging them to share their opinions on important issues facing our local communities, states and the nation.
