Sr. Ann Gray and Sr. Grace Malonzo Celebrate 70th Jubilee

2/1/25, Sound Beach, NY
On the evening of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, 70-year Jubilarians Sr. Ann Gray (Sr. Ann Catherine of Our Lady) and Sr. Christina Grace Malonzo (Sr. Grace of Our Lady) gathered amidst their congregation in the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Convent and renewed their vows as Daughters of Wisdom. Afterward, Delegation Leader Sr. Catherine Sheehan invited all the Sisters to renew their vows and to celebrate the congregation's founding, marking 322 years. Fr. Tom Poth, SMM, presided over the Mass and, in his homily, gave thanks and recognition for the Sister's ministries, highlighting their response to a lifetime of transformation and its expression through faithful, loving service, including the gifts they continue to bring to others and their communities.

Sr. Ann Gray's dedication to education and leadership is truly inspiring. Her career in education, teaching English and inspiring writers and young thespians from the elementary to college level, and in leadership as the Provincial of the US Province for two terms from 2006 - 2014, is a testament to her commitment. Today, she takes on the role of the delegation's JPIC communicator and currently volunteers at the Long Island Immigration Clinic, continuing to inspire others with her service.

Sr. Grace Malanzo's impact on the community is immeasurable. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of the people she encountered on the street and in hospitals as a nurse in Portsmouth, Virginia, and as an overseas missionary in Malawi and Nchalo, Africa, through pastoral care and on justice, peace, and environmental committees that she served on in Virginia. Her calm, faithful, and gentle spirit is a source of gratitude for all who have had the privilege of knowing her. Still very active, she is a member of the prayer circle and currently cares for the Chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Convent, where she has resided since retirement.

We are deeply grateful to both Sr. Ann and Sr. Grace for the spirit of perpetual hope they have shared with us over the years. Their unwavering commitment to their ministries and their communities has been a source of inspiration for all. As we celebrate their 70-year Jubilee, we pray that Wisdom continues to bless them richly.
