Sr. Rosemarie Greco Announces Solar Panels on Affordable Housing in Litchfield

Sr. Rosemarie Greco, DW shares with us some exciting news that solar panels have been installed on eight affordable houses of the Litchfield Housing Trust. These houses are environmentally sustainable units with geothermal heating and solar panels. Families will be able to move in soon.

“Being a board member of the Litchfield Housing Trust enables me to further the Laudato Si commitment of the Daughters of Wisdom to care for the environment and people in our common home,” said Sr. Rosemarie.

In the Laudato Si encyclical, Pope Francis calls for us to care for our common home, earth, and all of God's creation, including each other. The Daughters of Wisdom are committed to responding to the call of Laudato Si through various measures that care for the environment and people. The encyclical specifically discusses the importance of housing and how this relates to human ecology:

"Lack of housing is a grave problem…Having a home has much to do with a sense of personal dignity and the growth of families. This is a major issue for human ecology."
